GM에서 새로운 허머 컨셉카를 1월 13일에 공개할 예정이라고 합니다.
이미 인터넷 상에서 떠돌고 있는 몇장의 사진을 찾아 보았습니다.
기존의 허머의 부담스러운 크기에 비해서는 약간 작아진 듯 한데
해치백 스타일이어서 그런지 훨씬 더 컴팩트한 느낌입니다.

General Motors will take the wraps off the Hummer HX concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Smaller than the H3, the two-door open-air HX is aimed squarely at the Jeep Wrangler.

General Motors 는 디트로이트 모텨쇼에서 허머 HX 컨셉을 공개할 예정이다.
H3보다 작고 2도어의 open-air의 HX 는 Jeep Wranger 를 겨냥 하고 있다.

The HX's 103-inch wheelbase puts it in between the Wrangler and the Wrangler Unlimited.
103 인치의 휠베이스는 랭글러와 랭글러 리미티드의 중간정도 크기이다.

The HX's open-air driving experience comes via a pair of removable roof panels and a modular, removable rear roof assembly. The doors are removable, as are the fender flares (for more clearance on the trail). "The modular design of the roof and removable body panels mark an evolution of Hummer's design aesthetic," said Hummer exterior design boss Carl Zipfel. "These features demonstrate a deeper understanding of enthusiast desires when it comes to off-road driving, and the slant-back design gives the HX a look all its own."

HX의 천정과 뒤쪽의 덮개는 탈착이 가능하도록 되어 있어, 오픈에어링의 맛도 느껴 볼 수 있다. 또한 도어 자체도 탈착이 가능하여 "디자인에 있어 허머의 고유한 진화를 잘 보여 준다." 고 외장 디자인 책임자인 Carl Zipfel 는 말한다. 또한 "오프로드 드라이빙과 경사진 후미의 디자인은 HX 를 더욱 독창적으로 만들면서, 이는 허머의 열성적인 팬들에 대한 깊은 이해에 기반을 둔 것이다."

The four-seat interior is meant to be purposeful and off-road ready, with its largely sheetmetal-covered panels, and an exposed, extruded aluminum cross-vehicle beam as the instrument panel's foundation.

인테리어는 4인승으로도 고안되었으며, 메탈로 장식된 판넬과, 계기판과 같은 소재인 알루미늄으로 된 크로스빔으로 보강되어 있다.

There is also a rubberized floor and ballistic nylon-material covering on the instrument panel, and other interior components reinforce the functional aesthetic.

또한 바닥은 고무재질로 되어 있고, 방탄섬유의 계기판 등 인테리어 구성 또한 허머의 실용적인 장점을 더욱 강조 하였다.

A 3.6-liter V6 powers the HX, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive. The V6 can run on E85.

3.6 리터 V6 엔진, 6단 자동 트랜스미션을 장착하고 상시 4륜구동이다.

SUV 나 Jeep 스타일의 차를 별로 좋아 하지 않았는데 요즘들어서 자꾸 눈길이 간다.
(랜드로바 프리랜더 같으면 한번 타보고 싶다는 생각을 실제로도 했었고)
허머 같은 경우는 동네를 위주로 하는 생활패턴에 전혀 어울리지 않아 리스트에서 제외 되었는데, HX 라면 다시 생각을 해 볼것 같다. 가격을 생각하면 좌절 이겠지만.


거리를 다니는 허머의 포쓰는 ㅎㄷㄷ.
